In a major announcement, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has declared the fixtures for the much-anticipated 2025 summer, setting the stage for a cricketing extravaganza that will delight both men’s and women’s cricket fans. Key among the highlights is the simultaneous series involving the English and Indian cricket teams, which are expected to be the star attractions of the season.
The England men’s team is set to clash with India in a five-match Test series scheduled to run between June 20 and August 4. Meanwhile, the England women’s team will also take on their Indian counterparts in a parallel series featuring three T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals, unfolding from June 28 to July 22.
The historic Headingley cricket ground in Leeds will be the venue for the opening Test of the much-awaited England-India series, commencing on June 20. The action will then move to Edgbaston in Birmingham for the second Test, starting on July 2. Lords, the iconic home of cricket, will host the third Test beginning on July 10. Old Trafford in Manchester and The Oval in London will be the battlegrounds for the crucial fourth and fifth Tests, scheduled for July 18 and July 26, respectively.
On the women’s front, India’s tour of England will kickstart with a series of five riveting T20 Internationals. The first of these matches will be held in Nottingham on June 28, followed by games in Bristol, The Oval, Manchester, and Birmingham on July 1, July 4, July 9, and July 12, respectively. Following the T20 series, the competition will continue with three ODIs, to be hosted at notable venues: Southampton on July 16, Lord’s on July 19, and Chester-le-Street on July 22.
Prior to these marquee India series, the West Indies cricket teams will visit England, adding further excitement to the summer. Both the England men’s and women’s teams will compete against their West Indian counterparts in three ODIs and three T20 Internationals respectively. This series sets the stage for a spirited summer of cricket, where fans can expect an array of thrilling matches.
Further ramping up the cricketing calendar, England’s action-packed summer will begin with a historic Test against Zimbabwe, marking Zimbabwe’s first Test match in England since 2003. This four-day Test is scheduled to be held at Trent Bridge from May 22.

Completing the line-up, England’s summer cricket season will culminate with the men’s team facing South Africa in a white-ball series. This involves three ODIs and three T20 Internationals, slated to take place from September 2 to September 14. Furthermore, during the same month, the England team will visit Ireland for a trio of ODIs scheduled on September 17, 19, and 21.
Commenting on the comprehensive schedule, ECB CEO Richard Gould highlighted the importance of hosting men’s and women’s series concurrently. “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game. Both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proved successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again for the West Indies and India series next year. Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll be out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides,” said Gould.
The CEO emphasized the drawing power of the Indian teams, noting, “India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nailbiter and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting. Our women’s series are always fiercely competitive. I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back for white-ball series following this year’s men’s Test series,” Gould added.
Moreover, the announcement brought exciting news for the women’s cricket scene, revealing that the Indian women’s team will return in 2026 for the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s, further cementing the historic venue’s reputation.
Fans, players, and officials are all eagerly anticipating a summer filled with top-tier cricket, with a blend of long-format Tests and high-octane white-ball matches. This comprehensive line-up promises thrilling entertainment for cricket enthusiasts worldwide, and as the dates approach, the anticipation for these encounters continues to build.
