The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has rolled out the much-anticipated schedule for the 2025 summer season, featuring both the men’s and women’s teams in action-packed series. Highlighting the calendar are the electrifying contests against India, with the men’s team poised for a five-match Test series and the women’s team set for a series of T20Is and ODIs. This dual series promises to be a cricket fiesta for fans.
Kicking off with a bang, Leeds has been chosen to host the initial Test clash between England and India, slated for June 20. Following the opener, the cricket caravan moves to Birmingham for the second Test starting on July 2, followed by the iconic Lord’s hosting the third Test on July 10. The series will continue in Manchester for the fourth Test before culminating at The Oval with the fifth and final Test.
As for the women’s cricket enthusiasts, the England women’s fixtures against India women are set to commence shortly after the men’s series. The first T20I will light up Nottingham on June 28, followed by matches in Bristol on July 1 and The Oval on July 4. The action then continues in Manchester on July 9 and winds up in Birmingham on July 12. Post T20Is, the ODI series will take charge, beginning in Southampton on July 16. Lord’s will host the second ODI on July 19, and the series will wrap up in Chester-le-Street on July 22.
But the summer action doesn’t stop there. Before the India series, the England squads will welcome the West Indies for a series of white-ball matches.
. Both the men’s and women’s teams are scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is each against the visiting Caribbean squads. The home cricket season ignites with Zimbabwe playing their first Test in England since 2003, with a four-day encounter at Trent Bridge starting May 22.
Closing out the summer, the England men’s team will face South Africa in a series of three ODIs and three T20Is from September 2 to September 14. They will also journey to Ireland for a trilogy of ODIs on September 17, 19, and 21, adding an international flavor to the end of the season.
ECB CEO Richard Gould expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game, with both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proving successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again for the West Indies and India series next year. Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll be out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides.”
Gould also highlighted the significance of the India tour, “India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nail-biter and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting, while our women’s series are always fiercely competitive. I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back again for white-ball series, following this year’s men’s Test series.”
In a forward-looking note, Gould revealed that India women would be back on English soil in 2026 for a historic moment, featuring in the first-ever women’s Test at the venerable Lord’s.
