The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled the schedule for the 2025 summer cricket season, setting the stage for an exhilarating array of matches that will see the men’s and women’s teams compete in simultaneous series. Among the highlights are the eagerly anticipated matchups against India, which promise to be major draws for cricket aficionados.
The England men’s team will engage in a five-match Test series against India, spanning from June 20 to August 4, 2025. This closely contested series will kick off at Leeds on June 20. Following the inaugural Test, Birmingham will host the second Test starting on July 2. The third Test will be held at the iconic Lord’s from July 10, while Manchester and The Oval will serve as the venues for the fourth and fifth Tests, scheduled for July 21 and August 4, respectively.
In tandem with the men’s series, the England women’s team will also be pitted against their Indian counterparts. The women’s series comprises three T20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One Day Internationals (ODIs), stretching from June 28 to July 22. Nottingham will set the stage for the first T20I on June 28, followed by matches in Bristol on July 1 and The Oval on July 4. Manchester and Birmingham will host the subsequent T20Is on July 9 and 12, respectively. The intense competition will culminate with three ODIs, slated for July 16, 19, and 22 in Southampton, Lord’s, and Chester-le-Street.
The rivalry between England and India, renowned for nail-biting finishes and high-caliber performances, is expected to draw significant attention. The last men’s Test series between these two cricketing powerhouses was a closely fought contest, and expectations are high for similarly fierce competition in 2025. The women’s series, known for its vigorous contests, promises to be equally compelling.
Preceding the India series, the West Indies will tour England, offering both the men’s and women’s teams a series of white-ball matches—each team will play three ODIs and three T20Is. These encounters will serve as a prelude to the major contests against India and will provide fans with an early taste of competitive summer cricket.

Kicking off the action-packed season, England’s summer campaign will commence with a historic fixture as Zimbabwe returns for its first Test match in England since 2003. This four-day Test will be held at Trent Bridge from May 22, marking a significant moment for both teams and providing a unique opening to the summer’s cricket.
As the summer progresses towards its conclusion, the England men’s team will face South Africa in another white-ball series. This will include three ODIs and three T20Is, set to take place between September 2 to September 14. Additionally, the England team will make a brief visit to Ireland in September to compete in three ODIs on September 17, 19, and 21, rounding off what promises to be an enthralling cricketing season.
ECB Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould expressed his enthusiasm about the jam-packed schedule. “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game, with both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proving successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again for the West Indies and India series next year. Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll be out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides,” he remarked.
“India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nail-biter and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting, while our women’s series are always fiercely competitive. I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back again for white-ball series, following this year’s men’s Test series,” Gould added. He also revealed that the India women’s team will return to England in 2026 to participate in the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s.
