The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled the full schedule for the highly anticipated 2025 summer cricket season, set to enthrall fans with simultaneous series featuring England’s men’s and women’s teams. The highlight of the summer will undoubtedly be the blockbuster series against India, alongside competitive tours from the West Indies, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
England’s men’s team will lock horns with India in a gripping five-match Test series, scheduled to take place between June 20 and August 4. Kicking off the series, Leeds will host the first Test starting on June 20. Following this, the second Test will unfold in Birmingham from July 2. The historic Lord’s will host the third Test commencing on July 10. The series will continue with the fourth Test in Manchester, and the final showdown will be staged at The Oval.
Parallel to the men’s series, England’s women’s team will also take on India in a series consisting of three T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). The women’s series is set to begin on June 28 with the first T20I in Nottingham, followed by matches in Bristol and The Oval on July 1 and July 4, respectively. The concluding T20 games will be held in Manchester on July 9 and in Birmingham on July 12. The 50-over format clashes will take place in Southampton on July 16, at the iconic Lord’s on July 19, and will conclude in Chester-le-Street on July 22.
Ahead of the much-awaited India series, England will host the West Indies, with both the men’s and women’s sides playing three ODIs and three T20Is each. The England summer season will begin with a historic twist as Zimbabwe marks its first Test tour to England since 2003. This four-day match is slated to be held at Trent Bridge from May 22.
As the season draws to a close, fans will be treated to a fierce contest between England and South Africa in a limited-overs series.
. The men’s team will square off against South Africa in three ODIs and three T20Is from September 2 to September 14. Following this, England will wrap up their summer calendar with an ODI tour to Ireland on September 17, 19, and 21.
“Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game,” said ECB CEO Richard Gould. “With both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proving successful, I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again for the West Indies and India series next year. Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll be out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides.”
Gould expressed his enthusiasm for India’s visit, stating, “India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nailbiter and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting. Our women’s series are always fiercely competitive. I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back again for white-ball series, following this year’s men’s Test series.”
In a significant announcement, Gould added that India women will return to England in 2026 to feature in the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s. This historic event is expected to be a major milestone in the growth and recognition of women’s cricket globally.
