The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sought clarification from the ICC on why India would not travel to the country for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had sent a letter last week to the International Cricket Council (ICC) citing security concerns as reason for not being able to travel to Pakistan for the marquee ODI tournament.
“The PCB has responded to last week’s ICC letter seeking clarifications for the BCCI’s decision not to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025,” a PCB spokesperson told Cricbuzz.
In its letter, the PCB has also brought to ICC’s notice that New Zealand, England and Australia have toured the country in recent times, the former two teams doing so on more than one occasion.
Following BCCI’s official stance, the tournament has snowballed into a crisis with alternate modules now being considered, while the PCB has also sought their government’s advice on how to proceed.
