The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has stirred excitement among cricket enthusiasts by unveiling the comprehensive schedule for the 2025 summer, featuring simultaneous series for both the men’s and women’s national teams, with the marquee events against India taking center stage. This forthcoming cricket season promises an action-packed lineup as both teams gear up for a captivating summer of cricket.
The England men’s team is set to lock horns with India in a comprehensive five-match Test series spanning from June 20 to August 4. Meanwhile, the England women’s team will compete against their Indian counterparts in an exciting series featuring three T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals (ODIs), scheduled from June 28 to July 22.
The historic Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds will host the first critical Test match between the England and India men’s teams in this highly anticipated series, commencing on June 20. Following this, the second Test is slated for Birmingham starting July 2. Cricket fans can look forward to the third Test at the hallowed Lord’s Cricket Ground from July 10, while the fourth and fifth Tests will be held at Manchester and The Oval, respectively.
On the women’s side, the Indian team’s tour of England begins enthusiastically with five T20Is. The matches will be played across various iconic venues: Nottingham on June 28, Bristol on July 1, The Oval on July 4, Manchester on July 9, and Birmingham on July 12. This exhilarating series will then be rounded off with three ODIs set to be contested on July 16 in Southampton, July 19 at the prestigious Lord’s, and concluding on July 22 in Chester-le-Street.
Before embarking on the highly awaited India series, both the men’s and women’s teams of England will face a formidable challenge from the visiting West Indies side. The fixtures against the West Indies include three ODIs and three T20Is for both the men’s and women’s teams. Additionally, marking a significant milestone, Zimbabwe will return to English soil for a Test match, their first in England since 2003. This four-day encounter is scheduled at Trent Bridge from May 22, signaling the commencement of England’s cricketing summer.

As the summer cricket marathon progresses, England’s men’s team will also face South Africa in a series of three ODIs and three T20Is between September 2 and September 14. In a concurrent development, England will also cross the Irish Sea to battle with Ireland in three ODIs set for September 17, 19, and 21.
Reflecting on the dual series setup, ECB CEO Richard Gould stated, “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game. Both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year were highly successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again for the West Indies and India series next year. Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll be out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides.”
The prospect of an India tour always generates palpable excitement, with past series often proving to be nail-biters. Gould emphasized this sentiment, noting, “India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nail-biter and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting, while our women’s series are always fiercely competitive. I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back again for white-ball series, following this year’s men’s Test series.” He further disclosed an exciting future development, “India women will return to England in 2026 to feature in the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s.”
The comprehensive itinerary for England’s home summer of 2025 is jam-packed with thrilling encounters, ensuring an exhilarating period for cricket aficionados. With strategic fixtures planned at iconic venues, both the men’s and women’s sides are all set to showcase their prowess on the grand stage, promising a summer filled with riveting cricketing action.
