In an exciting announcement for cricket enthusiasts, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has officially revealed the summer schedule for 2025, which promises a series of compelling cricket matches featuring both the men’s and women’s teams of England and India. This dual-series arrangement will see cricket’s most storied rivalry renewed with the men’s five-match Test series against India and the women’s series consisting of three T20Is and three ODIs.

The much-anticipated five-match Test series for the men will span from June 20 to August 4, 2025. The series will kick off at Headingley in Leeds, where the first Test match will commence on June 20. Following the opener in Leeds, the second Test will take place in Birmingham starting July 2. Cricket fans will then see the third Test unfold at the iconic Lord’s from July 10. The excitement will continue with the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Manchester, before culminating in the fifth and final Test at The Oval from July 29 to August 4.

Parallel to the men’s series, the England women’s team will host India for their own series that includes three T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). The women’s series will start with the T20Is, beginning in Nottingham on June 28. The teams will then move to Bristol for the second T20I on July 1, and The Oval will host the third T20I on July 4. As the series heats up, the action will proceed to Manchester for the fourth T20I on July 9, followed by Birmingham on July 12 for the fifth. The women’s series will conclude with three ODIs scheduled on July 16 in Southampton, July 19 at Lord’s, and the final match on July 22 at Chester-le-Street.

The high-profile India tour of England will be preceded by another significant cricket event: the visit of the West Indies. Both the England men’s and women’s teams will face West Indies in a set of three ODIs and three T20Is each, adding further excitement to the 2025 cricketing calendar. Additionally, England’s summer will commence with Zimbabwe’s return to English soil for their first Test match in England since 2003. This four-day Test is slated to be held at Trent Bridge from May 22.

To round off a packed summer schedule, England’s men’s team will play a series of ODIs and T20Is against South Africa from September 2 to September 14. Moreover, the England men’s team will also travel to Ireland in mid-September for a three-match ODI series, scheduled to be played on the 17th, 19th, and 21st.

ECB CEO Richard Gould expressed his excitement about the simultaneous scheduling of men’s and women’s series, underscoring the appeal and growth of women’s cricket. “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game, with both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proving successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again for the West Indies and India series next year. Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll be out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides,” he remarked.

Gould also highlighted the enormous draw that an India tour represents for the world of cricket. “India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nail-biter and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting, while our women’s series are always fiercely competitive. I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back again for white-ball series, following this year’s men’s Test series,” he continued, noting that India’s women’s team would also return in 2026 for the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s.

The complete schedule for England’s 2025 home summer is as follows:

– Men’s Test against Zimbabwe (May 22)
– Women’s White-Ball Series vs. West Indies
– Men’s White-Ball Series vs. West Indies
– Men’s Test Series vs. India (June 20 – August 4)
– Women’s White-Ball Series vs. India (June 28 – July 22)
– Men’s White-Ball Series vs. South Africa (September 2 – 14)
– Men’s ODI Series in Ireland (September 17, 19, 21)

With such an array of fixtures, the summer of 2025 promises to be an exhilarating period for cricket aficionados, showcasing the very best of international cricket across both the men’s and women’s formats.
