The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled its much-anticipated schedule for the 2025 summer, and cricket enthusiasts are in for a thrilling season. Both England’s men’s and women’s teams are set to engage in high-stakes series, including highly awaited encounters with India.

The spotlight of the schedule undoubtedly falls on the England men’s five-match Test series against India, slated to run from June 20 to August 4. The opening Test will take place in the historic cricketing grounds of Leeds on June 20, setting the stage for an epic battle between two cricketing giants. Following the opener, the series will move to Birmingham for the second Test from July 2, then to the hallowed turf of Lord’s for the third Test starting on July 10. The thrilling itinerary will continue with matches at Manchester and The Oval for the fourth and fifth Tests respectively.

Simultaneously, England’s women’s team will be gearing up for an adrenaline-pumping series against India women, encompassing three T20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). The women’s series is set to begin on June 28 and conclude on July 22. Nottingham will host the first T20I on June 28, followed by matches in Bristol on July 1, and finally, The Oval on July 4. The competition won’t stop there, as Manchester and Birmingham will also be arenas for the upcoming women’s fixtures on July 9 and July 12, respectively. The women’s ODIs are scheduled to take place in Southampton, Lord’s, and Chester-le-Street on July 16, 19, and 22.

Before the India series, England will play host to the West Indies. Both the men’s and women’s teams will face the Caribbean side in three ODIs and three T20Is each. This series is expected to set the tone for what is anticipated to be an electrifying summer of cricket.

Additionally, England’s season will commence with Zimbabwe’s tour, marking their first Test appearance in England since 2003.

. Scheduled for May 22, this four-day Test at Trent Bridge will be the curtain-raiser for the summer’s cricketing festival.

Towards the conclusion of the season, cricket fans can look forward to a limited-overs series against South Africa. Scheduled from September 2 to September 14, the men’s team will engage in three ODIs and three T20Is to end the summer on a high note. Moreover, England will travel to Ireland within the same month for a trio of ODIs scheduled for September 17, 19, and 21.

The summer of 2025 promises to be a treat for cricket enthusiasts, featuring simultaneous series for the men’s and women’s national teams—a format that has received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans. “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and has supported the continued growth of the women’s game. Both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proved successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again for the West Indies and India series next year,” said ECB CEO Richard Gould.

He added that the return of India to England is always a monumental event, drawing huge crowds and generating massive excitement. “India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nailbiter, and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting. Our women’s series are always fiercely competitive, and I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back again for white-ball series, following this year’s men’s Test series,” Gould noted. He also revealed that India women’s team is expected to return to England in 2026 for what will be the inaugural women’s Test at Lord’s, marking another significant milestone for women’s cricket.

With such an action-packed schedule, the ECB ensures fans that there will be no shortage of cricketing excitement. The comprehensive calendar promises not only intense competition but also a huge boost to the continued growth and popularity of women’s cricket, underscoring the commitment to elevating the game for all participants.
