The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled an exciting schedule for the 2025 summer, with both the men’s and women’s teams set to engage in simultaneous series, including the highly anticipated matches against India. This dynamic summer calendar promises an enthralling mix of Test and white-ball cricket, with fans anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Indian teams.
The men’s five-match Test series against India is scheduled to begin on June 20 and conclude on August 4. Meanwhile, the England women’s team will face off against the Indian women’s team in a series comprising three T20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One Day Internationals (ODIs), running from June 28 to July 22.
The Test series will kick off at Headingley, Leeds, where the first match is set to take place between June 20 and June 24. This historic venue will host the opening clash, setting the stage for what promises to be a riveting series. The second Test will be held in Birmingham, starting from July 2, with Edgbaston hosting what is anticipated to be another closely-fought encounter.
Cricket’s hallowed ground, Lord’s, will be the scene of the third Test, scheduled to commence on July 10. As one of the most iconic venues in the sport, Lord’s often brings a sense of grandeur and history to any match played on its turf. The fourth Test will follow in Manchester at Old Trafford, beginning on July 18. The series will finally conclude with the fifth Test at The Oval in London, starting on July 30, bringing the curtain down on what is sure to be an intensely competitive series.
Parallel to the men’s series, the England women’s team will engage in their own battle against the Indian women’s team. Their campaign begins with five T20Is, starting on June 28 in Nottingham. The subsequent matches will be held on July 1 in Bristol, July 4 at The Oval in London, July 9 in Manchester, and July 12 in Birmingham. Following the T20I series, the teams will compete in three ODIs. These matches are slated for July 16 in Southampton, July 19 at Lord’s, and July 22 in Chester-le-Street, providing ample opportunity for thrilling women’s cricket action.

Before the Indian teams arrive, England’s cricket summer will already be in full swing with several high-profile series. The West Indies will tour England preceding the Indian series, with both the men’s and women’s teams playing three ODIs and three T20Is each. This sets the stage for a summer packed with cricketing action.
In addition to the Indian and West Indies series, England’s summer will commence with Zimbabwe’s return to Test cricket on English soil. Trent Bridge, Nottingham, will host this significant four-day fixture, scheduled from May 22, marking Zimbabwe’s first Test match in England since 2003. As the summer progresses, the England men’s team will also face South Africa in a series of three ODIs and three T20Is from September 2 to September 14. To cap off the season, England will make a journey to Ireland for three ODIs on September 17, 19, and 21.
ECB CEO Richard Gould expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming summer, highlighting the simultaneous staging of men’s and women’s series. “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game, with both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proving successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again for the West Indies and India series next year. Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll be out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides,” said Gould.
He further commented on the appeal of India touring England, “India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nailbiter and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting, while our women’s series are always fiercely competitive. I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back again for white-ball series, following this year’s men’s Test series.”
Interestingly, Gould also mentioned that the Indian women’s team will make a return in 2026 to feature in the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s, adding another historic milestone to the calendar.
