The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed an enticing schedule for the 2025 summer, which sees both the men’s and women’s cricket teams of England poised to engage in simultaneous series against their Indian counterparts. The fixtures promise thrilling cricketing action, and fans are eagerly anticipating the intense competitions that these series are sure to bring.

The headline event will be the five-match Test series between the men’s teams of England and India, set to take place from June 20 to August 4. Leeds has the honor of hosting the first Test on June 20, kicking off what is expected to be a highly competitive series. Birmingham will take center stage for the second Test beginning on July 2. Cricket’s iconic venue, Lord’s, will welcome both teams for the third Test starting on July 10. The fourth Test will be held in Manchester, while the prestigious The Oval is scheduled to host the deciding fifth Test, ensuring a fitting climax to the series.

Concurrently, the England women’s team will also be hosting the Indian women’s cricket team in a series comprising three T20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). The women’s T20I series begins on June 28 in Nottingham, continuing with matches on July 1 and July 4 in Bristol and The Oval, respectively. After the conclusion of the T20 series, the action will shift to the ODIs, commencing on July 16 in Southampton, moving to Lord’s on July 19, and concluding on July 22 in Chester-le-Street.

The highly anticipated India series will be preceded by a visit from the West Indies. Both the men’s and women’s teams will engage in three ODIs and three T20Is each, adding an exhilarating prelude to England’s cricketing summer. Additionally, England’s summer kicks off with a resurgent Zimbabwe team, playing their first Test in England since 2003. The four-day match is penned in for May 22 at Trent Bridge. September will see the England men’s team conclude their summer against the touring South African team, set to compete in three ODIs and three T20Is from September 2 to September 14. In addition, England has scheduled a trip to Ireland later in September, where they will play three ODIs on the 17th, 19th, and 21st.

When asked about the simultaneous hosting of the men’s and women’s series, ECB CEO Richard Gould remarked, “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game. The Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proved highly successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again next year for both the West Indies and India series. Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll come out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides.”

He continued, “India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nailbiter, and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting. Our women’s series are always fiercely competitive, and we’re thrilled to welcome the Indian women’s team back again. I’m also delighted to announce that India women will make a historic return to England in 2026 to feature in the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s. Moreover, we’ll be welcoming back the West Indies teams for their white-ball series after this year’s successful men’s Test series.”

The ECB has worked meticulously to construct a balanced and thrilling roster of matches that cater to the high expectations of cricket fans. The dual series structure not only promises more entertainment but signifies a significant stride towards elevating the profile of women’s cricket. As Gould emphasized, the continued growth and success of women’s cricket are integral components of the ECB’s future vision.
