The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled the highly anticipated schedule for the summer of 2025. Both the men’s and women’s teams are set to take on simultaneous series, headlined by marquee matchups against India. The cricketing calendar will be packed with action, promising an electrifying season for cricket enthusiasts.
The England men’s team will face India in an enthralling five-match Test series, running from June 20 to August 4. Leeds has been chosen as the venue for the series opener, scheduled for June 20. Following this, the second Test will take place in Birmingham starting July 2. Cricket’s most iconic ground, Lord’s, will host the third Test from July 10. The series will then move to Manchester for the fourth Test and will conclude at The Oval with the fifth Test.
Simultaneously, the England women’s team will also engage in a highly competitive series against their Indian counterparts. This series includes three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). The women’s T20 series will commence on June 28 in Nottingham, followed by matches in Bristol on July 1, The Oval on July 4, Manchester on July 9, and Birmingham on July 12. The women’s ODI series will kick off in Southampton on July 16, proceed to Lord’s on July 19, and round off in Chester-le-Street on July 22.
Before the much-anticipated India series, England’s summer will begin with a nostalgic return of Zimbabwe, marking their first Test in England since 2003. The four-day Test match is set to be held at Trent Bridge from May 22. This historical encounter will set the stage for a captivating season of cricket.
In addition to the India series, the cricket calendar will feature West Indies’ visit to England. Both the men’s and women’s teams will face the West Indies in three ODIs and three T20Is each.
. These series are poised to generate significant excitement and provide fans with more opportunities to support their favorite teams.
As summer gradually winds down, the England men’s team will gear up to face South Africa in a series of three ODIs and three T20Is from September 2 to September 14. The English cricket team’s season will conclude with a short trip to Ireland for a three-match ODI series slated for September 17, 19, and 21.
Richard Gould, CEO of the ECB, expressed his enthusiasm for the 2025 summer lineup. “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and has supported the continued growth of the women’s game. Both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year were successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same once more for the West Indies and India series next year.”
“Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll come out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides,” Gould continued. “India touring is always a significant draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nail-biter, and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as thrilling. Our women’s series are always fiercely competitive, and I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming the West Indies teams back for white-ball series following this year’s men’s Test series.”
Gould also hinted at historic firsts for the future. “India women will return to England in 2026 to play in the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s,” he revealed, underscoring the importance of growing the women’s game and creating more opportunities for high-profile matches.
