The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has officially announced the comprehensive schedule for the summer of 2025, promising a thrilling season for cricket enthusiasts. The unique highlight will be the simultaneous series involving both the men’s and women’s teams, set to take on formidable opponents, including the eagerly anticipated clashes against India.

The summer long cricket festivity will kick off with the men’s five-match Test series against India, running from June 20 to August 4. For the first game of the series, fans can mark their calendars for June 20, as Leeds prepares to welcome the teams to its historic grounds. Following this, the competition moves to Birmingham, hosting the second Test from July 2. The iconic Lord’s will stage the third Test from July 10, promising a classic cricket encounter in a venue known for its storied history. The series will then head to Manchester for the fourth Test, concluding with the final showdown at The Oval.

Simultaneously, the England women’s team will be locking horns with their Indian counterparts in a shorter format series. The women’s series starts with three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) followed by three One-Day Internationals (ODIs). The T20I series is set to begin on June 28 in Nottingham and continue with matches in Bristol, The Oval, Manchester and finally Birmingham. As for the ODI series, it is set to commence from July 16 in Southampton, with the final two games held at Lord’s on July 19 and Chester-le-Street on July 22 respectively.

This cricket extravaganza will be set in motion with a precursor series, as the West Indies will tour England just before the India series. Both the men’s and women’s teams from West Indies will compete in three ODIs and three T20Is each against their English counterparts. Alongside these fixtures, England’s summer will also boast the rare appearance of Zimbabwe, playing their first Test on English soil since 2003.

Anticipation will build further towards the end of the summer when England is set to face South Africa in a series of white-ball matches. The men’s team will engage in three ODIs and three T20Is between September 2 and September 14, promising a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 cricket season. Additionally, the English squad is set to journey to Ireland in September for a trio of ODIs set for September 17, 19, and 21.

Richard Gould, the CEO of ECB, expressed his excitement for this action-packed summer. “Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game, with both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proving successful. I’m excited we’ll be doing the same again for the West Indies and India series next year. Cricket fans are in for a real treat, and I hope they’ll be out in force to support both men’s and women’s sides,” Gould remarked enthusiastically.

Gould further elaborated on the significance of India’s tour, citing it as one of the marquee events of the cricketing calendar. “India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. The last men’s Test series here was a nail-biter and I’m sure next year’s clash will be just as exciting, while our women’s series are always fiercely competitive. I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back again for white-ball series, following this year’s men’s Test series,” he noted, adding that India women’s team will return to England in 2026 to participate in the first-ever women’s Test match at Lord’s.
